LIVE STREAM: Dallas Paramedic Shot, Police on Manhunt for Suspect

Dallas police are on a manhunt for the suspect who allegedly shot and injured a paramedic Monday.

The police department sent out a news release after the incident that said there was a shooting called into authorities at the 3200 block of Reynolds Street. A Dallas Fire-Rescue EMT Unit was struck by gunfire and a paramedic was injured by the suspect.

The release said that the paramedic was transported to an area hospital and is undergoing surgery.

Reports on social media say that the suspect is carrying a “long rifle” that was believed to be an AK-47. Witnesses said they heard about three-to-four shots after an ambulance and firetruck arrived on scene.

According to The Dallas Morning News, the paramedics may have been responding to a suicide call when the suspect ambushed their vehicle.

Helicopters are overhead and a massive law enforcement presence is on the ground trying to located the suspect in the Old East Dallas neighborhood. Parts of the neighborhood are closed off as the situation is still active and fluid.

Residents in the neighborhood have been urged by authorities to stay in their homes as they continue their search for the suspect.
