Ahead of his visit for the country’s Bastille Day celebrations, President Donald Trump and French President Emmanuel Macron are holding a joint press conference in Paris on July 13.

The Associated Press reported that Trump and Macron are supposed to talk about topics such as the ongoing crisis in Syria, as well as counter-terrorism strategies during their meeting. In addition to that, the AP said that Trump and Macron “are looking to set aside differences on trade and climate change” ahead of Bastille Day.

Trump’s decision in June to withdraw the United States from the Paris climate accord drew criticism from leaders across Europe, especially Macron. Macron, who was elected in May to serve as president, is notably a strong advocate for finding ways to combat global warming and encouraged American scientists and researchers to “bring their fight against climate change to France,” the AP wrote.

While he’s in Paris, widespread anti-Trump protests have been planned by demonstrators.

Trump arrived in Paris early on Thursday, heading overseas just days after another scandal has rocked Washington D.C. involving the Russia probe. His son, Donald J. Trump Jr., was accused of having a meeting to obtain information about Hillary Clinton with a Russian lawyer.

After the report, Trump’s eldest son released a strand of emails confirming that he knew what he was going to get out of the meeting.

Trump has stood by his son since the report surfaced, releasing a statement through White House Deputy Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders that said: “My son is a high-quality person and I applaud his transparency.”

Congressional committees and a special counsel have been investigating Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign’s ties to Russia. The email strand Trump Jr. sent out is thought to be one of the most damming pieces of evidence showing the Trump campaign sought the assistance of Russia to compromise the election.
