Zayn’s New Single, ‘Fingers,’ Set to Release on Thursday

Zayn appears to be releasing a new single, “Fingers,” on Thursday morning at 8 AM EDT, per a cryptic tweet sent by him on Wednesday night.

Little is known about the single so far, besides the lyrics that were included in the teaser clip below:

“F*cked and I want ya

Looked and I loved ya

Stuck now I need you

Hoping I see you”

Here’s what we know about the single so far.

Zayn Tweeted at Cardi B Earlier in the Day Asking her to ‘Jump On’ Some Music With Him

Thirty minutes prior to tweeting out his single teaser, Zayn tweeted at Cardi B: “ Yo I’ve gotta a sick tune if you wanna jump on it lemme know”

Cardi B has yet to respond to the tweet. It’s unclear if the offer is for Zayn’s new single, or for a future unknown collaboration.

This Single Will Be Zayn’s Fourth to Promote His Upcoming Sophomore Album

Zayn’s fourth single comes after “Dusk Til Dawn,” “Let Me,” and most recently, “Entertainer,” all of which follow the same storyline.

In May, Zayn said of his sophomore album, “It’s all very under wraps at the minute. I’m trying to keep it as mysterious as possible, but there’s a plan with the roll out. It’s going to be different than anything anyone has done before. It’s going to be interesting to see how the audience reacts to this kind of release. I wanted to try something different, I think it’s all going to make sense in the end when the album finally drops.”

He also confirmed that the album, which is still largely unknown to the public, was already named, and that he was working on a show to accompany the new music. He said,  “I wanted this show to be something that people really go away from and go you know ‘That was a magnificent piece of artistry as a whole thing.’ Not just come and be like ‘Oh yeah, that was a great set of you know six, maybe seven, good songs.’ I want to get to have a real body of music behind it so it gives a real shock to the people so I’m excited for that this time.”

Of what he’s learned since dropping his first solo album, “Mind of Mine,” in 2016, he said, “A second album I think is always nerves around that the only reason I have experience and knowledge of that is because I was a band for a very long time and I learned a lot of things. I get to use those experiences as a point of reference for the things that are going on now. It’s going to reach people a bit differently and hopefully solidify the fact that yeah, I am a solo artist. I mean business.”
