Port Authority Bus Terminal Shut Down Due To Weather

Port Authority Bus Terminal shut down to the overcrowding as a result of the weather on November 15, 2018, according to The New York Post. At around five in the evening, officials closed the facility because so many passengers were still waiting to go in or out.

Now, authorities are recommending that passengers either take trains back to New Jersey, or find other ways to get home.

The Port Authority tweeted at the time: “Due to overcrowding conditions at PABT, please consider alternate mode of transportation. NJT Rail and NY Waterways is cross-honoring with NJT bus.”

On November 15, 2018, the Port Authority Bus Terminal provided a series of updates about the weather, including, “NJTransit buses are having trouble accessing PABT due to weather. No estimate of normal service.NJT bus passengers should use rail/ferries as alternative.” The page also provides this information: “Bus Carriers: http://www.panynj.gov/bus-terminals/pabt-carriers-routes.html … Port Authority Police: Dial 50 from any #PABT House Phone. Emergency? Dial 911. Feed not monitored 24/7.”
