The Geminid meteor shower is often considered to be one of the highlights of the year, in terms of meteor showers. According to EarthSky, the meteor shower will peak in the mornings of December 13 and December 14, 2018, especially in places where the sky is especially dark.
Specifically, the Geminids are best at two in the morning, EarthSky reports, because that’s when the shower’s radiant point is highest in the sky.
“It won’t be a total washout, because the Geminids have a lot of fireballs in them,” meteor expert Bill Cooke said to Space.com.

According to CNN, the most meteors will be visible right before sunrise on Friday morning. To find more specific information about the best times and location to watch the Geminid meteor shower for your area, you can use Time And Date.
EarthSky.org reports that the “peak morning is likely to be December 14, 2018,” although you’ll probably get a good look at the meteor shower on the previous morning as well. The site suggests that 2 a.m. is going to be the best time to view the meteor shower and that this is true no matter where you live.
What is a meteor shower? It’s quite a breathtaking display. You might be able to see as many as 50 meteors per hour. Other sites say the number of meteors may hit 100 per hour. According to the Planetary Society, you should be able to see meteors on most nights; it’s just that these nights you should be able to see a bigger display of them.
