The Panthers waived Shirden on Tuesday, Joe Person of The Athletic reports. The undrafted rookie out of Monmouth was unable to crack the roster behind Chuba Hubbard and Miles Sanders despite rookie Jonathon Brooks (knee, NFI) being out for the first four games of the season. Shirden rushed 17 times for 47 yards (2.8 YPC) during the preseason, adding three catches for 42 additional yards.
