The above train crash happened in Morehouse Parish Town, Mer Rouge, Lousiana, a rural town in the northeast area of the state. According to local news reports, the accident happened on October 5 at around 1 P.M when a tractor trailer carrying a rubber tire crane got stuck on the tracks. The driver then noticed an oncoming train and ditched his vehicle to save his life.
The accident did however severely injure 2 train engineers and caused the town to evacuate. The train was carrying argon which authorities feared may have leaked out into the community. However, a follow-up story by Louisiana’s KNOE stated there was no leak and everyone was able to return home.
