Kristin Sausville of Glasgow, Delaware was the only contestant in the final round of Jeopardy after her opponents went into the negative digits and weren’t allowed to wager.
Host Alex Trebek had a little fun with Sausville before calling on her for her answer to the question, “On August 15, 1994, 59 years and 1 day after FDR signed the original act, Bill Clinton made this an independent agency.”
The correct answer is, “What is the social security administration?”
Sausville got the answer wrong but only wagered $1,600 of her $8,400 in winnings… but it really didn’t matter.
Sausville’s two-day winnings equal $31,601, and she will return to today to compete for more.
