Winter Storm Stella is upon us and you probably have a snow day … What do you do? Here’s a list of the 10 best options for you to try out. Enjoy!
1. Create a Secret Snowball Stash for Summer
Sneak outside when no one’s looking and grab some snow to make a bunch of snowballs. Put them in plastic bags or containers and store them in the freezer until summer. This works very well for those of us with an extra fridge … When summer rolls around and people start busting out water balloons and squirt guns, you have a whole new kind of ammunition. Surprise!
2. It’s Holiday Card Time
When you were in school, all the kids made Valentine’s Day cards for their classmates, right? You’re never too old for this. Get ahead of the holidays and make your Christmas, New Year’s, and Valentine’s Day cards for friends, family and co-workers. Holiday cards in the mail never get old.
3. Have an Indoor Picnic
Lay a blanket on the floor and have yourself a little indoor picnic. If you have a fireplace, that can add a special touch. Get the wine. Make the food. You’re all set … You can stick to the normal picnic menu options like sandwiches, potato chips, etc. Or, you can take it up a notch by making recipes you’ve been wanting to try out. Or, depending how bad the weather is, you can always just order delivery.
4. Take an Online Class
You know those mini-classes or online “how-to” tutorials? Try one out. It’s always good to learn something new, especially if it’s something you never got around to learning. Here’s some ideas: knitting, cake decorating, making your own sushi, creating home-made ornaments, or any DIY projects. You can also check out online tips on how to better your business. Be productive.
5. Spray Paint Without the Paint
Look outside your window at all that snow … a perfect blank canvas for your work. Any plastic spray bottles you aren’t using will work, so fill them with water and add food coloring. Now you have your paint. Or, if you’re lazy you can just use actual spray paint if you have it … Anyway, the snowy blanket outside is your canvas, so get to work.
