If the Giants beat the Royals Wednesday night in Game 7 of the World Series, Madison Bumgarner will undoubtedly be in the mix for World Series MVP.
The tall lefty dominated Kansas City in both of his two starts: A 7-1 Giants win at Kauffman Stadium in Game 1 and a 5-0 San Francisco win in Game 5 in which Bumgarner went the distance, completing the first World Series shutout since 2003, when a young Josh Beckett did it for the Marlins against the Yankees.
Bumgarner, just 25, is under contract until 2017 and is one of the biggest reasons the Giants appear poised to continue the success that's already led them to three National League pennants in five years.
