The Cincinnati Bengals are off to a 3-1 start thanks to a bevy of star players on both sides of the ball. But the most popular person associated with the team isn't a player. It's 4-year-old Leah Still, the daughter of backup defensive lineman Devon Still.
Leah has inspired fans throughout the country during her battle with cancer, which she's been waging since her diagnosis in June.
Following months of chemotherapy, doctors performed surgery September 25 to remove the tumor that had developed in Leah's abdomen.
She's now undergoing additional chemotherapy in hopes of mounting a full recovery. Devon Still was initially cut by the Bengals but retained on the team's practice squad, in part so he could keep the health insurance that's essential to paying for Leah's treatments. Still has since been added to the active roster, and was in uniform for the Bengals' game Sunday night at New England.
As for Leah, she's a source of inspiration for cancer patients young and old — and a constant presence on her dad's Instagram page.
