Before Monday night’s Falcons-Packers game, ESPN’s Monday Night Football crew paid tribute to their colleague Stuart Scott, who has been absent from MNF coverage all year while undergoing cancer treatments.
Suzy Kolber, who was noticeably emotional and had tears coming from her eyes as she spoke, took the initiative to express the love and admiration that the crew collectively has for Scott:
“I have the privilege of sitting in (Scott’s) seat each week as he fights the fight with cancer. It’s been seven years and Stuart is the recipient of the Jimmy V Award for perseverance and he said in his amazing speech… that sometimes when you don’t have the strength you need your friends to step up a little bit and help you. So, Stuart, we want you to know we’re sending you some extra strength and to keep fighting that fight.
In November, he tweeted to dispel rumors that he was in Hospice care.
He is one of ESPN’s most well-known personalities, and is known for being as nice off camera as he is on.
