But Kentucky isn’t the only one who came out lucky – Dick Vitale did too when he planted a pregame good luck kiss on Ashley Judd. And lucky for us it was all caught on camera.

ESPN broadcaster Dick Vitale, 75, has been known to have some off-the-cuff while off-the-mic moments at college basketball games. Vitale has been caught dancing with cheerleaders before, but Sunday, March 15 he took his off-court shenanigans to another level.

Dickie V must have been feeling the mojo in Nashville, Tennessee’s Bridgestone Arena or something. While we don’t know what prompted him, we do know the end result. The longtime sportscaster planted a kiss square on the lips of Ashley Judd, who is a Kentucky superfan.

The claim is that it was for “good luck,” but considering the Wildcats entered the game 33-0, it’s probably safe to say Vitale was just making the most of the moment.

Judd, 46, is well-known for her family tree and her acting career. She is the daughter of country music singer Naomi Judd and the sister of Wynonna Judd, who also made her name in country music.

Ashley Judd did not take the musical path her mother and sister took, but instead made a name for herself as an actress. She’s been in major movies such as Kiss the Girls, Double Jeopardy, High Crimes and most recently Divergent.

Judd is also the ex-wife of NASCAR driver Dario Franchitti. The two tied the knot in 2001, but called it quits in 2013. The couple did not have any children together and Judd admitted to Us that their marriage was “estranged” but that she’ll always love him. She said:

He’ll always be my loved one. Even before our wedding, we agreed not to tell people about our relationship, but to show them instead. What we’re showing them now is we’re human, we’re family, and this is what family looks like.

5. Dick Vitale Has Been Married to Wife Lorraine for 44 Years

Unlike Judd, Vitale has been married to his wife Lorraine for 44 years. And while there’s sure to be somebody out there to play “Negative Nancy” and speculate a scandal behind the Vitale-Judd smooch, there’s no need for that.

Vitale is still happily married and even tweeted that he and the wifey were getting dinner together in Nashville and calling it a night.
