The round of 64 in the March Madness 2015 Tournament kicks off Thursday, March 19 in various arenas across the nation. It’s 32 games in 48 hours and when it’s all said and done the field of 64 will be cut in half. One of the mid-day games for Day 2 – aka Friday, March 20 – in the Midwest bracket is No. 4 Maryland vs. No. 13 Valparaiso.

In their first year in the Big Ten conference, the Terrapins wasted no time making their mark. Maryland finished second in the conference during the regular season with a 14-4 conference record and a 27-6 overall mark. The last time the Terps went dancing was in the 2009-10, a season before Mark Turgeon took over the program.

As for Valparaiso, the Crusaders earned an automatic bid after winning the Horizon League Conference Tournament. This is Valpo’s second trip to the NCAA Tournament in three years and 10th in program history. At the helm is another fourth-year coach, Bryce Drew, who used to play for the Crusaders in the late ’90s when they made it to the Sweet 16 in 1998.

The game starts at 4:40 p.m. Eastern and will be covered by TNT. The announcers for the game will be Ian Eagle, Doug Gottlieb and Evan Washburn.

The winner between Maryland and Valparaiso will move on to face the winner of the No. 5 West Virginia vs. No. 12 Buffalo. That game will take place on Sunday, March 22.
