Liverpool Unveil New Jerseys at Anfield
Liverpool FC today launched their new home kit for the 2015/16 season in an event held at Anfield. The new jerseys, including a long- and short-sleeved outfield jersey as well as a goalkeeper kit, were modeled by Raheem Sterling, Daniel Sturridge, Martin Skrtel and Simon Mignolet in front of fans in the Centenary Stand.
The inclusion of Sterling is being interpreted by some as a sign of Liverpool's confidence that the young Englishman will remain at Anfield next season, despite publicly refusing to sign a $150,000 per week contract extension tabled by the Merseysiders. Some in the crowd, however, were less convinced, with one shouting: "make sure we see you in it next season."
The new jerseys will be produced by New Balance, whose logo will replace Warrior, their sister company. Warrior / New Balance signed a four-year, $450m deal with Liverpool before the start of the 2012-13 season.
