Adriana Leon: The Photos You Need to See

Adriana Leon is an attacking midfielder for the Canadian Women's National Team. In the Women's World Cup opener, Leon's attacking movement in the box drew a crucial 90th minute penalty shot, which netted Canada the winning goal. Although Leon herself did not score (Christine Sinclair put it in), Leon is an important part of a Canadian attack that has been revamped for the 2015 World Cup. Adriana grew up with her parents and two siblings in Canada, but she played soccer in college first for Notre Dame and later for Florida. Adriana went professional, and currently plays for the Chicago Red Stars of the NWSL. The Chinese women's team has been affected by Leon in the past. Leon made her senior national team debut against China when she was 20 years old, and she scored the only goal. Now 22, Leon looks to be a fixture in the women's soccer spotlight, and Canada, aided by young stars like Kaylyn Kyle and veterans like Christine Sinclair, look to make a deep run in the tournament on their home turf (Photo: Twitter @AdrianaLeon9).
