The baseball and sports world was rocked early Monday when former MLB player Darryl Hamilton was found dead.
According to the Houston Chronicle‘s Dale Lezon and Mihir Zaveri, Hamilton, an analyst who worked on the MLB Network since 2013, died of an apparent gunshot wound. His girlfriend, Monica Jordan, was also found dead, reportedly by a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The authorities are investigating it as a murder suicide.

1. He Had a 1-Year-Old Boy With Jordan
According to police, via KHOU.com’s Adam Bennett, Hamilton and Jordan had a 1-year-old boy who was at the house during the time of the tragic incident, which took place at Jordan’s house. The boy was unharmed and taken to Child Protective Services.
Jordan also had two other children from a prior marriage who lived with her and were unharmed.
2. He Had 2 Sons From a Previous Marriage With Ursaline Steinke
Hamilton was previously married to model Ursaline Steinke in a relationship that produced two boys, Donovan and Julian. His sons were very clearly a big part of his life, as he often posted pictures of them on social media.
According to neighbors, via KPRC-TV’s Jace Larson, Hamilton was often seen outside of Jordan’s house playing with his sons and was called “a great dad.”
3. His First Marriage Was to ‘Access Hollywood’ Host Shaun Robinson
Hamilton married Shaun Robinson in 1994 but the couple divorced shortly thereafter.
A successful talk host and journalist, Robinson, 53, has conquered several ventures, won an Emmy and now works as a co-host on “Access Hollywood.”
4. His Brother Worked as His Agent
Darryl Hamilton never strayed far from his family. When he was still in the majors, he hired his brother, John C. Hamilton, as his agent.
“As my Agent and as my Business Manager, John has always looked out for my best interest,” wrote Darryl. “He has been there for me not only as my agent, but as my brother.”
Hamilton, whose company is Performance Sports Management, manages NBA players Glen Davis and Garrett Temple, among others.
