Maggie Streb has made it abundantly clear that she will always be by the side of her husband, Robert.

When he won his first Tour event last September, she was there. When he broke his putter and used a sand wedge for nine holes to finish second place at the Greenbrier Classic, she was there.

And now that he’s in serious contention at the 2015 Open Championship, she’s there to continue her unrelenting support. Let’s take a look at everything you need to know about her.

1. She Met Robert at Kansas State

Maggie, a graduate of Shawnee Mission East in Kansas, and Robert both attended Kansas State University, where they met through mutual friends. Robert, an Oklahoma native, was an instant star with the Wildcats, becoming just the fourth player in school history to advance to the NCAA Championships at as a freshman.

Still, Maggie didn’t fully realize just how good he was when they first met.

“I knew he played on the golf team,” she said. “But I no idea that he was this good. A lot of his golf team friends were like, ‘Robert is going to play pro, he’s really, really good.’ I was like, ‘Oh, really?’ It took probably about six months to a year to realize how serious he was about golf.”

2. She & Robert Married in June 2012

Robert and Maggie were married on June 23, 2012. While such a significant life event like that might distract many others from their professional life, it seemed to bolster Robert’s.

Bouncing around on developmental tours after graduating from Kansas State, he won his first Web.com event in September and finished 2012 seventh on the money list to earn his PGA Tour card.

During his first year on Tour, he had five top-25 finishes to earn nearly $500,000, and he has continued to get better every year since.

3. She Gave Birth to Their First Child in February

On February 3, 2015, Maggie and Robert welcomed their first child, daughter Catherine, into the world.

“It has been a wonderful experience,” Robert said. “Becoming a father has really put things in perspective.”

At just nine weeks old, Catherine accompanied her mother at the Masters, where they supported Robert at the first major tournament of his career.

“Ever since she was six weeks old, we’ve been on the road with him,” said Maggie. “She flies really well, and she’s been sleeping really well.”

4. She Travels to Nearly Every Tournament

Maggie spent some time as a substitute teacher back in 2012, but now she’s a full-time mother to Catherine and full-time supportive backbone to Robert.

“Ever since we got married three years ago, I’ve traveled to pretty much every tournament,” she said. “I’ve missed a couple here and there… (Robert) gets pretty lonely the weeks we’re not out.”

With a daughter still under six months old, that’s incredible dedication.

5. She & Robert Reside in Shawnee, Kansas

When they aren’t actually at a tournament–The Open Championship is Robert’s 70th event since the start of 2013–the happy couple lives in Shawnee, Kansas, the same city where Maggie grew up.

They spend a lot of time with family, specifically Maggie’s parents.

“It’s a nice, safe place, easy going,” said Robert. “You just kind of take it easy and put your feet up.”
