Jim Harbaugh remained silent the entire game week. Even in pregame warm-ups, Harbaugh handed off to the running backs instead of letting the starter do it.
After a vow of silence, Michigan’s starting quarterback is Jake Rudock. Rudock is a graduate transfer and was the starting quarterback at Iowa. He was originally a three-star recruit out of St. Thomas Aquinas High School. He received scholarship offers from a number of teams including Illinois, Wisconsin and Colorado.
Many have described Rudock as an efficient player who makes very little mistakes. While he is unlikely to throw for 4,000 yards this season for the Wolverines he is very much capable of managing the games. Shane Morris was the other player being considered for the starting quarterback position.
It will be interesting to see what Jim Harbaugh is able to do with Rudock. Harbaugh has previously mentored quarterbacks such as Andrew Luck, Colin Kaepernick and Alex Smith.
