Week 1 Sunday closes with the Dallas Cowboys hosting the New York Giants as 6-point favorites on Sunday Night Football. The line opened at Cowboys -5, but has climbed to -6 at the sportsbooks. The Cowboys are 4-2 ATS in their last six games against the Giants, but 2-4 ATS in their last six such home games.
The closest line of Sunday involves the Houston Texans hosting the Kansas City Chiefs. Houston opened as a 2.5-point favorite, but the line has been bet down to Houston -1. The Texans were 5-11 at home ATS last season, and will open this season without star running back Arian Foster. The total is set at 41.
Last season, the total went UNDER in four of the Chiefs’ last five games, and in five of the Texans’ last seven games.
The week closes with a Monday Night Football doubleheader. The opening game features the Philadelphia Eagles as 3-point road favorites against the Atlanta Falcons. Philadelphia is 10-3-1 ATS in its last 14 games against Atlanta according to the OddsShark NFL Database. The Eagles are 5-2 ATS in their last seven games at the Georgia Dome.
The second game features the San Francisco 49ers hosting the Minnesota Vikings. The 49ers opened as 4.5-point favorites, but the line swung to set the Vikings as 2.5-point favorites. Minnesota was 5-1 ATS in its last six games last season, while San Francisco was 0-5 ATS in its last five games.
