Box Score

The Spartans can cross one of two teams off their list. The Spartans lost early last season to the Ducks and wanted redemption in this game. The Michigan State defense continued to come up with key stops to push the Spartans to a victory at home in East Lansing.

It was a difficult night for Vernon Adams and Oregon but the Ducks still had an opportunity to win the game on their last drive. The Spartans defense proved to be too much. Adams finished 22-of-39 for 309 yards, two interceptions and one touchdown.

Here are the highlights of how the Spartans got the victory:

Oregon Scored an Early Touchdown

Oregon marched down the field on the very first drive of the game. Adams looked calm and the injury does not seem to be bothering him. Royce Freeman punched in the touchdown.

Michigan State Answered With a Touchdown of Their Own

Michigan State answered by scoring quicker than Oregon even did. The long rush above led to a touchdown pass from Connor Cook.

Oregon Answered With Their Own 4th Down Conversation

Oregon took Michigan State’s blueprint and did the same thing. They capitalized on a 4th down conversion then ran it in for a touchdown.

The Ducks Scored a Late Touchdown

Byron Marshall caught this 15-yard touchdown pass to bring the Ducks within three points with three minutes remaining.

The Michigan State Defense Came Up With a Crucial Stop
