College Football Power Rankings Week 8

This week had something for everyone. If you like smaller schools upsetting ranked schools from power conferences, it had that. If you enjoy trick plays and fluky finishes, it had that too. It even had games full of solid defenses for the football traditionalists. We knew Week 7 had a great slate of college football games and the day lived up to his reputation. The highlight of the weekend came in Ann Arbor where Michigan State was left for dead with ten seconds left in the game. In a play that nobody could have guessed would happen, the punter dropped the ball and it was recovered by the Spartans who ran it all the way into the endzone as time expired to win the game.

Les Miles pulled out his old tricks in Baton Rouge as a fake field goal sealed the deal for the Tigers over the Gators. Memphis shocked Ole Miss with a sizable win against the Rebels. These were just some of the highlights from the college football weekend. Week 7 finally provided the separation between teams we have been waiting for. While there is still a long ways to go, the road to the College Football Playoff became a little bit clearer over the weekend.

Our power rankings breakdown the teams we view as the top ten teams in the country as of today. Feel free to compare them to the actual polls. Here are this week's power rankings: (Getty)
