Even with the late cancellation of co-main event Johny Hendricks vs. Tyron Woodley, UFC 192 doesn’t have a shortage of compelling fights.
Leading the way, of course, is the light heavyweight title fight between Daniel Cormier and Alexander Gustafsson. DC, who is defending his title for the first time, is a strong favorite, but the last time Gustafsson was a major underdog he took Jon Jones to the brink in one of the most entertaining battles in recent memory. Challenger vs. champion, tall vs. short, lengthy striker vs. elite wrestler, however you want to define it, this is going to be a must-watch battle.
The loss of Hendricks vs. Woodley certainly hurts the overall depth of the card, but Ryan Bader vs. Rashad Evans isn’t too shabby of a co-main event, either. Bader has won four in a row and looking for his title shot, while former light heavyweight champ Evans is making his highly anticipated return after a two year absence from the Octagon.
Throw in a heavyweight battle between Shawn Jordan and Ruslan Magomedov, a matchup between flyweight title contenders in Joseph Benavidez and Ali Bagautinov, and Ultimate Fighter 18 champion Julianna Pena looking to continue her ascent against Jessica Eye, and this is a very intriguing main card.
