As Peyton Manning and Aaron Rodgers face off on Sunday Night Football it begs the question as to how often they have played each other. Not as often as you may think.
Both quarterbacks have been in the league for quite some time but only have faced each other one other time in their careers.
Manning and Rodgers last played each other on October 19, 2008 at Lamebeau Field. Manning was still with the Colts at the time. Rodgers and the Packers cruised to a 34-14 victory. Rodgers was 21-of-28 for 186 yards and one touchdown.
Manning struggled throughout the game. He was 21-of-42 for 229 yards, two interceptions and no touchdowns.
Manning is nearing the end of his career while Rodgers still has many more years in his prime. Rodgers is in his eighth season as a starter while Manning has been a starter for 17 seasons in the NFL. Rodgers spent the first three seasons of his career as a backup to Brett Favre.
Enjoy this matchup while you can. Since both quarterbacks play in opposite conferences they do not face each other often. Manning most likely will be retired the next time the Broncos and Packers square off.
