Police say they are investigating after a 20-year-old woman reported she was raped at a home where two star Nebraska football players live, the Omaha World-Herald reports.

Lincoln Police told the newspaper the woman went to a hospital Sunday afternoon and reported the assault. She told investigators she knows the suspect.

Nebraska starting quarterback Tommy Armstrong and wide receiver Jordan Westerkamp both live at the home where the woman says she was raped, the World-Herald reports. They have been questioned by police, but no arrests have been made and a suspect has not been named publicly or listed in the police report.

The woman told police the rape occurred between 2:15 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. Sunday at the 5411 N. 11th Street house.

Tommy Armstrong, the Nebraska Cornhuskers starting quarterback, told the Omaha World-Herald after he spoke with police they told him “you guys should be fine.”

Armstrong added about the victim, “I don’t know why that person said that. We’re confused about the whole situation. From what we’re hearing, everything was consensual.”

He did say if the woman was at the home, or who the suspect might be.


2. The Players Were Partying at the House After Returning From a Game in New Jersey

Armstrong told the World-Herald he and his roommate, Jordan Westerkamp, were partying at their Lincoln home after returning from New Jersey early Sunday morning. The team had played against Rutgers Saturday afternoon.

Armstrong and Westerkamp have lived together for four years.

“Being a wideout, I don’t want to let him down — not only because he’s a quarterback, but because he’s my best friend,” Westerkamp told the World-Herald in August. “That makes me work so much harder. It makes me not want to make mistakes.”


3. A Third Football Player Was Also Interviewed by Police

The World-Herald reports that a third football player, tight end Trey Foster, was also interviewed by police. He was not reached for comment by the newspaper.

Foster is a junior from Lincoln, Nebraska.

He is originally from Lombard, Illinois.
