After last week featured a slew of potential league-changing pick-ups, the Week 13 waiver wire is going to feel particularly bare. But while there may not be a whole lot of new starters around the league to target, that doesn't mean you should ignore the waiver wire entirely. As teams approach the playoffs, which begin in Week 14 in most leagues, depth begins to become less important. There are no more bye weeks, and most teams' starting lineups are mostly set. As such, it's not a bad idea to start filling out your bench with handcuffs to your running backs and high-upside players. For example, someone like Isaiah Crowell may very well out produce Jay Ajayi for the rest of the year, but the latter presents far more upside, making him a better stash for your bench.
