Alright, New York Jets fans. Get ready for a dramatic last few weeks of the regular season.

If the season ended today, Gang Green would be sitting in the second AFC Wild Card spot, looking to keep riding a wave of success that has surprised more than a fair share of people. The season, however, does not end today. And even three straight wins aren’t necessarily enough to secure a postseason spot.

It’s December. Anything is possible!

So, how do we combat this almost and maybe and might-not-make-the-playoffs blues?  Win. The Jets need to keep winning. And they need to win on Saturday night against the Dallas Cowboys.

New York comes into the primetime tilt as 3.5-point favorites over the home team according to sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark. It makes sense. After all, the Jets are riding their first three-game win streak since 2011 and boast some serious confidence coming into Week 15.

There’s also some recent history to feel good about siding with the Jets, at least when it comes to betting trends. Gang Green is 4-2 SU in its last six games, while the Cowboys are 0-5 SU in their last five games at home and 1-6 ATS in their last seven games at home.

Unfortunately, New York’s recent matchups against Dallas have not been quite as positive. The Jets are 1-4 ATS in their last five games against Dallas and just 7-17 in their last 24 games on the road. The Cowboys are also 3-0 ATS in the last three matchups between the two teams.

Still, there’s reason to believe that could turn around on Saturday night. New York’s run defense is among the best in the league, allowing just 80.5 yards per game while the Cowboys are ranked No. 22 on the ground at home.

The total for Saturday night’s New York and Dallas matchup is set at 42 points according to the sportsbooks. The total has gone UNDER in four of the last six Jets-Cowboys matchups, but OVER in six of New York’s last nine games. It has also gone OVER in four of Dallas’ last five games at home.

The OddsShark computer is predicting a 22.2 – 19.4 victory.
