AC Milan enters January in an atypical spot. Currently sitting in eighth place in the Serie A standings, 10 points behind rival AC Inter, Milan is in dire need of making some moves to compete and return to the top of Serie A.
At the top of the list of needs: strong defenders. A goal differential of +2 and 23 goals allowed through 19 matches is not going to cut things for owner Silvio Berlusconi's team. There are several rumors out there to satisfy the need at defense. Milan could go after Martin Caceres of Serie A giant Juventus, Joel Matip of FC Schalke 04 or even Branislav Ivanovic of Chelsea, among other potential targets.
But what makes the most sense? Maybe getting rid of some who have underperformed to make way for the future. Does Antonio Nocerino come to mind? Maybe, maybe not. Going after some high-profile attackers isn't out of the question either, as we know that's something Milan has not shied away from in the past.
Let's take a look at some realistic and intriguing moves Juventus could be making in the upcoming big month of action. (Getty)
