Manchester United Transfer News & Rumors: 5 Targets For January

Manchester United isn't having the worst season of the top English clubs (RE: Chelsea), but they've had their share of problems this campaign. Tight defense has led to bland offense, as United is one of the BPL's lowest-scoring teams. United have scored only twice in the first half at Old Trafford, and that includes an own goal from Tottenham on opening day. United was recently labeled the Premier League's most boring team, creating the fewest chances (81) of any team in England's top league.

United are in the market to fill multiple positions, but LVG has insisted that his club is unlikely to be active in January. But the squad has holes and lacks depth, and could use an extra attacker and defensive midfielder. Most of all, United need goals.

One player that could certainly bring the scoring back to Old Trafford would be Cristiano Ronaldo. The Ballon D'Or finalist has been rumored for a return to England for some time now, but rumors have slowed in 2016. The latest report has Paris Saint-Germain as the biggest suitors for Ronaldo, with a rumored contract offer of £500,000 per week in play.
