Juventus did not panic after being shocked by two goals, fighting back in the second half to force a 2-2 draw against Bayern Munich.
Bayern Munich payed no mind to Juventus’ brilliant home form, getting goals from Robben and Muller when building a 2-0 lead. Before this first leg, Juventus had gone over 800 minutes without conceding a goal at home in all competitions.
But Juventus did not waver, and exposed an inexperienced Bayern defense more and more as the game progressed. Their first goal came from Paulo Dybala, who beat Manuel Neuer one-on-one for the Italians’ first score with a little under 30 minutes remaining. Juventus used all three subs in the second half, and they made an impact in the closing minutes. Alvaro Morata’s cross was poked into the top of the net by Stefano Sturaro, drawing Juve level.
After dominating in the first half, it was Juventus who nearly stole the game late. A Pogba header in the final minutes went just over the bar, leaving the score tied at 2-2. Bayern has the away goals, but Juventus have the momentum heading into the return leg in three weeks.
