The Foxes of Leicester are nearing the finish line of their magical season, and a comfortable lead in the Premier League table means that we can start looking at clinch scenarios for Ranieri’s men. A draw to West Ham today put Leicester 8 points clear in the table, an important point against a tough club. Without another loss, the earliest they could clinch the title is Match 36, which happens to be at Old Trafford.

That match could prove significant for Manchester United, who are just barely on the outside looking in on Champions League. Van Gaal’s men could only scrape this Rashford goal in a win over Aston Villa this weekend, clinching relegation once and for all for Villa.

If United want to get back into Champions League, they’ll likely need a stumble from Arsenal or Manchester City. Both teams are within four points of United, but it’s City that could get caught with a busy fixture schedule. After earning their first-ever trip to the Champions League semifinals, City now have a rough stretch with three league fixtures in eight days. None of the teams are placed in the top eight, but it will still test City’s conditioning and it wouldn’t be a surprise if they drop a game. They’ve got bigger problems with only one week to prepare for Real Madrid.

It looks like if any team is going to catch the Foxes, it would be Spurs, who still trail by seven points with five matches to play. But Tottenham have no other competitions to play for, and have a fairly easy schedule to close out the season.
