John Legend kicked off the 2016 NBA Finals with his rendition of the national anthem before Game 1 between the Golden State Warriors and Cleveland Cavaliers at Oracle Arena on Thursday night.

You can watch the 37-year-old’s performance above.

And in the least surprising news of the day, he killed it.

This isn’t the first time the famed singer-songwriter helped kick off a major sporting event. He performed “America the Beautiful” at Super Bowl XLIX in 2015.

Legend has released four individual albums, all of which have reached Top-5 status on the Billboard 200. He also has an array of popular singles, including “All of Me,” which hit No. 1 in 2014.

He has also won a whopping 10 Grammy Awards, including Best New Artist (2006), Best R&B Album (Get Lifted, 2006; Wake Up! with The Roots, 2011) and Best R&B Song (“Shine,” 2011).

Pretty much everything he touches turns into success, and the Warriors will be hoping his presence at Game 1 means good things for their quest at a second-straight NBA title.
