It wasn’t pretty, but it certainly was exciting.

Brad Keselowski endured a caution-filled Kentucky Speedway and conserved enough fuel late to hold off Carl Edwards to win the Quaker State 400 presented by Advanced Auto Parts on Saturday night.

Keselowski was so low on fuel that when he took the checkered flag, a tow truck needed to push his No. 2 Ford on the Victory Lap.

Hence, no celebratory burnout.

Keselowski and Team Penske will take it. They’ve dominated at Kentucky recently, winning three of the past five races. And Keselowski has moved within just 4 points of Kevin Harvick in the series drivers standings. He also won last week’s Coke Zero 400.

The 1.5-mile tri-oval saw a record-tying 11 cautions for 53 laps during the Sprint Cup Series race, which also had 9 different leaders on the evening.

Ryan Newman, Kurt Busch and Tony Stewart rounded out the top 5 on the paved track.

Next up on the schedule is the New Hampshire 301 at the New Hampshire Motor Speedway. The race is set for Sunday, July 17, at 1:30 p.m. Eastern. It will be televised by NBC Sports Network (NBCSN).
