Following the injury of Finn Balor at SummerSlam, retired WWE wrestler Bret Hart is once again coming out against Seth Rollins.
In a statement to Wrestlezone, Hart said that he takes no pleasure saying “I told you so,” referencing the fact that he has previously criticized Rollins for injuring superstars in the ring. Hart goes on to say that if a professional wrestler keeps hurting his opponents, he’s obviously doing something wrong.
“I wrestled a very realistic and physical style and not once in 23 yrs did I ever hurt one opponent ever,” Hart wrote. “Seth Rollins needs to improve his technique and become the safest wrestler in the business.
Hart adds that he believes Rollins will eventually improve and that hopefully he’ll do so before getting someone killed.
Bret Hart has in the past blamed Seth Rollins for injuries, especially when Rollins accidentally broke John Cena’s nose during a match.
“You can’t hurt somebody like that under any circumstances,” Hart said of the match with Cena. “It’s totally reckless. It can’t happen.”
Hart also said that Rollins injuring Sting during their match at the 2015 Night of Champions pay-per-view may have contributed to the end of Sting’s career.
Finn Balor was injured at SummerSlam during his match with Seth Rollins, specifically when Rollins performed a turnbuckle powerbomb and sent Balor flying into the barricade. Balor’s shoulder immediately popped out of its socket, and he ultimately suffered a torn labrum. The WWE superstar recently underwent surgery and is expected to be out for four to six months.
