Dana Vollmer’s Husband & Son: The Pictures You Need to See

Dana Vollmer is competing in her third Olympic Games in Rio, but it's her first as a mother. The 28-year-old, who won three gold medals and set a world record in London four years ago, decided to retire following the next year's World Championships, opting to take the next step in her life and start a family with her husband, former Stanford swimmer Andy Grant. But the boredom she experienced while pregnant with her son made her realize how much she missed the pool. Eight months pregnant, she decided on a comeback, and now--just 17 months after the birth of Arlen--she'll become the second American swimmer to capture an Olympic medal after giving birth (Dara Torres was the first). It's been a long, unbelievable road back to the Olympics for Vollmer, and she has impressively managed to find the balance between life in the pool and life as a mother.
