With women's golf starting up at the Olympics, several American golfers that play professionally on the LPGA will be taking to the green in Rio in the hopes of bringing a medal home to America. The women's golf tournament starts at 6:30 am EST and can be live streamed here for anyone with access to an NBC Sports subscription.
One of the American golfers that will be teeing off at the Olympics is Lexi Thompson, a young golfer who debuted at a far younger age as something of a phenom. Now 21 years old, she will be competing in her first ever Olympic games, unsurprising as these are the first women's golf games at the Olympics in over a century. But as someone who has done remarkably well on the LPGA tour at so young an age, Thompson could easily be considered a potential frontrunner here. How she does against the rest of the world's elite women golfers - as well of some of her fellow LPGA tour members - will be interesting to watch. (Getty)
