Paige has been missing from the WWE for several weeks now, and we recently learned that this was due to an unspecified injury. Now, it seems that injury may be much more serious than was initially thought.

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter via Reddit, there is now concern that Paige has suffered nerve damage.

“Regarding Paige, there may be some nerve damage regarding her back and shoulder issues,” Dave Meltzer reports. “I was told her neck issue is similar to what a lot of the guys have had that had serious problems where the problem has led to weakness in the right arm which was the first stage for some major issues with a lot of the guys.”

Paige already had back issues when signing with World Wrestling Entertainment; she suffers from scoliosis, a curvature of the spine. The WWE superstar once said in an interview with Stone Cold Steve Austin that her spine looks like a question mark. At the time, Stone Cold wondered if this could lead to issues down the line for Paige, and she didn’t deny that this could be the case.

Amid reports that she was away from the WWE due to an injury, Paige posted this video on social media showing herself trying to get her back and shoulder stronger.

It was recently reported that Paige would be gone from the WWE for at least two more weeks, but it’s unclear if this will be extended in light of recent developments.

Paige, whose real name is Saraya-Jade Bevis, is just 23-years-old. She grew up in a family of wrestlers, with her parents being Julia Hamer-Bevis and Ian Bevis. She began wrestling at the age of 13, signing a WWE contract in 2011.

Paige made her debut on Monday Night Raw in April 2014. On her first night, she won the WWE Divas Championship at the age of 21, making her the youngest person to ever hold this title.
