Fantasy Football Rankings: Week 5 Running Backs

When it comes to running backs, there have certainly been a handful of surprises over the first four weeks of the NFL season. Both the good and bad variety, that is. If I had to pick the best surprise, that would be Browns ball carrier Isaiah Crowell. He's not getting a ton of work (averaging just over 15 carries per game), but the third-year back is averaging 6.5 yards per tote and has scored 3 touchdowns. The biggest disappointment? Not including those who have been injured (though they're definitely not helping), that dubious distinction goes to Todd Gurley of the Rams. Yes, he has 2 TDs, but he's averaging only 2.6 yards per carry and hasn't topped 85 yards in a game. The season is long and Gurley will flip the switch soon enough. But let's not rely on Crowell to keep up that pace. But what about Week 5? Click through the gallery below to see our top 40 fantasy football running backs for this week. (Getty)
