Brazil have a match Thursday against rival Argentina, but they must also battle old memories at Belo Horizonte.

It is Brazil’s first match at the stadium since their historic loss 7-1 to Germany at the 2014 World Cup. That match was supposed to put Brazil back into the final, but instead sent the club into a period of turmoil and uncertainty. Fernandinho will likely be the only player in a Brazil shirt who was on the field for that match.

If they can put those thoughts aside, Brazil can score a big win over a struggling Argentina club. Brazil are at the top of the CONMEBOL table and Argentina are struggling, currently sitting in sixth place. Now that Messi has returned to action, Argentina look to get back into the 2018 World Cup discussion.

Argentina-Brazil is one of the biggest rivalries in international soccer, and Thursday night will mark the 102nd meeting between the teams. Brazil lead the series 39-37, but the scoring is tied at 159 goals apiece.
