No. 2 UCLA vs. Ohio State Preview

Steve Alford’s Bruins, who entered this season with high levels of both expectations and pressure, have been one of the most impressive teams in the country to this point in the season. The additions of freshmen Lonzo Ball, T.J. Leaf and Ike Anigbogu have been huge, and veterans such as Bryce Alford, Isaac Hamilton and Thomas Welsh have all benefitted as well. They face an Ohio State team that, while good, could use another quality victory as they approach the start of Big Ten play.

While the Buckeyes did beat UConn at home, given the Huskies’ 4-5 record it could be argued that Ohio State’s close loss at Virginia holds greater value from a reputation standpoint. Guard JaQuan Lyle and forward Marc Loving are among the statistical leaders for Thad Matta’s Buckeyes, who enter the game as nine-point underdogs according to BetOnline.
