With the Pats win, Roger Goodell, Commissioner of the National Football League, had to present the Pats and, more specifically, Tom Brady, the trophy. Two years ago, Brady was involved in a controversy that came to be known as "deflategate." Allegations against Patriots' win over Indianapolis arose in 2015 when claims came out that the Super Bowl-bound team used a deflated football in the AFC championship game. It wasn't Brady's first time under commissioner scrutiny. "In 2007, the Patriots were found to have illegally videotaped opposing teams’ defensive signals," reports Detroit Free Press. Since deflategate, Brady and Goodell have kept an icy distance.
