Tonight marks WeatherTech’s fourth appearance at the Super Bowl, and the company’s commercial will focus on the importance of their famous floor-mats. WeatherTech’s 30-second spot, which will air during the first quarter of the game, starts out with a man swerving to avoid being crushed by falling rocks. The hero of the commercial rushes to ensure his safety by dropping a mat in his car to keep his coffee from spilling everywhere. The ad boasts “Made in America” to ensure that viewers know WeatherTech products are manufactured in the USA, using American materials.
WeatherTech sells a vast array of products, from floor liners that have been laser measured for a perfect fit to pickup truck bed liners to drink coasters. Their goal is surface protection, and the agency behind their commercial this year is Pinnacle Advertising, who was worked with Honda, Acura, Harley Davidson, Sears, and more.
Though a couple advertisers wait for the big game to release their commercials, many companies (like WeatherTech) have started to release their full-length videos before the Super Bowl. Snickers is one of the companies who will have to wait to share their commercial until game time, though, and for good reason– their commercial will be filmed live, and will feature Adam Driver and a horse. With costs reaching up to $5 million for a 30-second spot, advertisers want to ensure that they’re getting the best bang for their buck, and that their commercials will excite, shock, and entertain the millions of viewers watching the Super Bowl across America.
