Sunday on the NRG Stadium field in Houston, it’ll be the team with the most Super Bowl experience against one with some of the least.

The New England Patriots are making their ninth showing in the big game, while the Atlanta Falcons just their second. The Patriots are 4-4 in their previous eight games and the Falcons are looking for their first Super Bowl title.

Those are impressive totals for New England, but there are teams with more Super Bowl wins. With six victories in eight appearances, the Pittsburgh Steelers have the most Super Bowl wins. The Patriots four losses aren’t a record, either. But, again, the number is close. The Denver Broncos have lost five of their eight Super Bowl visits.

The Buffalo Bills made a record four-straight big games after the 1990 through 1993 season. They also have the dubious distinction of losing all four, also an NFL record for consecutive Super Bowl setbacks.

The first Super Bowl was played in January 1967, but then it was between the NFL and AFL. Since 1971 with SB V, it’s been the NFC vs. the AFC, the current system. The stats and numbers below are for Super Bowls only, so it doesn’t include winners of NFL Championship Games.

Here’s all the important info you need when it comes to Super Bowl winners and losers:
