MLB Power Rankings: Week 7

Each week, Heavy has a simple philosophy when completing our MLB power rankings. If you win, you're in. It is a simplified way of explaining the process as we do not simply line up teams by total wins, or it would resemble the current MLB standings. That said, we are looking for teams that have won a good share of their games and place a particular emphasis on how a team has performed recently. Two new teams caught our attention: Milwaukee Brewers and Texas Rangers. The Brewers have one of the best records in baseball and are showing they should have been on this list sooner. Likewise, the Texas Rangers are as hot as any team in baseball. The top teams in the AL East are moving in the opposite direction. The Orioles and Yankees have both hit rough patches and are fortunate the top of the division has not performed well over the same time period. Fresh off moving up to the top spot last week, all the Astros continue to do is look like the best team in baseball

Ryan Zimmerman is finally getting some competition as he no longer leads MLB in batting average or RBI. Dodgers Justin Turner leads baseball with a .379 average. Aaron Judge continues his spectacular start by leading MLB with 15 homers. Both Clayton Kershaw and Dallas Keuchel lead the majors with seven wins. The stats and standings listed in our rankings are as of Sunday, May 21. Click the arrow on the right side of the middle of the page to see Heavy's latest MLB power rankings. (Getty)
