Game Preview: Oakland had their best season in years, but it came to a screeching halt after injuries hit the team hard heading into the playoffs. While the Raiders had a chance to make a deep playoff run, these hopes ended after Derek Carr went down with a broken leg.
The Raiders are poised for another great season. Fans will be watching Marshawn Lynch to see if he can be the difference maker in the backfield the Raiders have been looking for. The year off will either leave Lynch rested or rusty.
For the Rams, the focus continues to be on second-year quarterback Jared Goff. There is optimism in Los Angeles that Goff can have an improved season in new coach Sean McVay’s offensive system.
Goff should get a bit of a boost after the Rams acquired wide receiver Sammy Watkins.
