Tennessee stumbled to a 5-7 record in Jeremy Pruitt’s first year, but with Jarrett Guarantano under center, a new offensive coordinator in Jim Chaney and an experienced defense, the Volunteers have the pieces for improvement in 2019.
In 2019, Tennessee football games will be televised on either ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, SEC Network, ABC or CBS. If you don’t have cable, you can watch Tennessee games live on your computer, phone, Roku, Fire TV Stick, Xbox One, PS4 or other streaming device via one of the following cable-free, live-TV streaming services:

Not only is this the cheapest streaming service that includes every channel that will have a Tennessee football game this season, but Hulu With Live TV also comes with Hulu’s extensive Netflix-like on-demand library of TV shows and movies.
You can sign up for Hulu with Live TV right here, and you can then watch Tennessee games live on your computer via the Hulu website, or on your phone (Android and iPhone supported), tablet, Roku, Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV, Chromecast, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, Echo Show, or other streaming device via the Hulu app.
If ABC is not available in your market, you can also watch ABC games via ESPN.com or the ESPN app without having to sign in to a cable provider as long as you have a participating Internet Service Provider (ISP).
If you can’t watch a game live, Hulu With Live TV comes with 50 hours of cloud DVR space, as well as the option to upgrade to “Enhanced Cloud DVR,” which gives you 200 hours of space and the ability to fast-forward through commercials.
Sling TV & CBS All Access

This option is $41 per month all together, but it’s my second choice because it doesn’t include ABC, it will cost more than Hulu With Live TV if you want to add DVR, it lacks the entertainment value of Hulu’s on-demand library and there’s the extra hassle of needing to use two different streaming services, as Sling TV is the cheapest option for the ESPN channels and SEC Network but doesn’t include CBS.
You can sign up for Sling TV right here, and you can then watch the Tennessee games that are on the ESPN channels or SEC Network live on your computer via the Sling TV website, or on your phone (Android and iPhone supported), tablet, Roku, Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV, Chromecast, Xbox One or other streaming device via the Sling TV app.
If you can’t watch live, you can get 50 hours of cloud DVR storage for an additional $5 per month.

This is ultimately the same as the Amazon Prime option, only you’re watching through CBS’ digital platform rather than Amazon’s.

2019 Tennessee Football Preview
The Volunteers went 5-7 in 2018, their first season under head coach Jeremy Pruitt.
They lost three players to April’s NFL draft: defensive back Rashaan Gaulden went to the Carolina Panthers in the third round, and running back John Kelly and defensive lineman-turned-offensive lineman Kahlil McKenzie got selected in the sixth round, by the the Los Angeles Rams and Kansas City Chiefs.
“One thing, coming into this camp, we wanted to create an identity of what we want the 2019 Tennessee football team to be,” Pruitt said days before the team’s season opener against Georgia State, according to 247Sports. “And Saturday is going to be the first opportunity we get a chance to do that. We’ve had a really good camp. We’ve got really good leadership out of our seniors. We’ve got lots of new guys, lots of unknowns, and that’s the excitement about college football. We’ve got a lot of guys that came here because they felt like they had an opportunity to play early at a big-time program.”
Redshirt junior quarterback Jarrett Guarantano will once again helm Tennessee’s offense. In 12 games last season, the 6-foot-4-inch signal caller completed 62.2 percent of his passes for 1,907 yards, 12 touchdowns, and 3 interceptions.
Tennessee has a new offensive coordinator in Jim Chaney, who served in the same role and as a quarterbacks coach at Georgia from 2016-18.
“I think the more comfortable you get in this offense, obviously you want to see that continue to develop and grow,” quarterbacks coach Chris Weinke said, according to The Daily Beacon. “I’m pleased with the progress [Guarantano] has made. He bought into our system.
“This is a QB-friendly offense, but it also puts a lot of responsibility on the quarterback. He’s done a fantastic job of grasping this and continuing to make progress.”
Weinke, who won a Heisman Trophy and a national championship at Florida State, said he stressed consistency with Guarantano during training camp.
“I think it’s consistency. That’s the biggest thing,” Weinke said, per The Daily Beacon. “As we go through camp, there’s always little things you want to continue to work on. I talk about consistency of your footwork, anticipation, decision making, all of those things. All of those things go into being an elite quarterback, and he has done that throughout camp.”
He added: “I think he’s expanded his vision and vocal leadership. You see him encouraging guys, you see him communicating better. I think he’s done a great job with that.”
