Drew Brees and the New Orleans Saints are favored for the first time in three seasons in a game against Cam Newton and the Carolina Panthers, which might make them hard-pressed to continue some recent head-to-head dominance.
The Saints are listed as 4.5-point favorites on the NFL Week 13 odds against the Panthers with a 48-point total at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com, in a matchup that is also a first-place showdown in the NFC South.
The OddsShark NFL Database shows that the resurgent Saints are 4-0-1 against the spread in their last five games against the Panthers, although Carolina was favored in all of those matchups. That said, favorites have dominated the moneyline, going 18-6 straight-up in the last 24 games. Five of the last six Panthers-Saints games have gone over the posted total.
Elsewhere, the Atlanta Falcons are three-point favorites against the Minnesota Vikings with a 47 total. The Vikings are 16-5 ATS in their last 21 games in December, and the total has gone under in nine of their last 11 games as underdog. The Falcons haven’t beaten the Vikings since 2011, but are 7-3 SU after losing the previous game in a matchup
The Philadelphia Eagles are 4.5-point road favorites against the Seattle Seahawks with a 47 total in the Sunday Night Football betting matchup. The favored team is 7-2 SU and ATS in its last nine games in this matchup. The total has gone over in three of the Eagles’ last four games at night. The Seahawks are 8-0 SU and ATS in their last eight games in Week 13.
The New England Patriots are 8.5-point road favorites against the Buffalo Bills with a 48.5 total. The total has gone over in five of the Patriots’ last seven games in the early afternoon. The Bills, who won outright over the Kansas City Chiefs as the underdog in Week 12, are 7-22-2 ATS in their last 31 games after winning as an underdog.
The Kansas City Chiefs are three-point road favorites against the New York Jets with a 44 total. The favored team is 8-0 SU in its last eight games in this matchup. The Chiefs are 8-3 ATS in their last 11 games after an ATS loss.
The Baltimore Ravens are three-point favorites against the Detroit Lions with a 43.5 total. The Ravens are 7-17 ATS in their last 24 games in December. The Lions are 5-16 ATS in their last 21 games in December. The total has gone OVER in nine of the Lions’ last 12 games against AFC North teams.
The Los Angeles Rams are seven-point road favorites against the Arizona Cardinals with a 44 total. The total has gone UNDER in 19 of the Rams’ last 24 games in December. The Rams are 1-5 ATS in their last six games vs divisional opponents. The Cardinals are 0-6-1 ATS in their last seven games against their division at home.
And the Pittsburgh Steelers are five-point road favorites against the Cincinnati Bengals with a 43.5 total in the Monday Night Football betting matchup. The Steelers are 7-1-1 ATS in their last nine games against the Bengals. The total has gone under in seven of the Bengals’ last nine games in December.
