WWE Money in the Bank 2018: The Results & Highlights You Need to Know

Money in the Bank 2018 is finally here. There are several titles matches set, as well as the men’s and women’s ladder matches, where the winner of both will get a shot at becoming the next champion in their respective division.

The kickoff show for Money in the Bank 2018 starts at 6:00 p.m. EST, and the main event starts at 7:00 p.m. EST. The Bludgeon Brothers (c) vs. Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson

Winners: The Bludgeon Brothers

Highlights: Gallows & Anderson start off hot but the Bludgeon Brothers (Harper and Rowan) make a startlingly quick recovery, and send Gallows up the walkway while slamming Anderson into a pole. Anderson gets pummeled by Rowan while Gallows is incapacitated, but he manages to recover just in time to tag Gallows so that he can come in to clothesline Harper. Despite Gallows and Anderson’s best efforts, the Bludgeon Brothers regain control of the match and ferociously powerbomb Gallows.

Daniel Bryan vs. Big Cass

Winner: Daniel Bryan

Highlights: Bryan comes out swinging, and attacks Cass’ surgically repaired left knee. Bryan takes a beating at the hands of Cass, however, and gets knocked out of the ring. Cass lays into Bryan, pummeling him with face shots and a particularly brutal hit to the back. Bryan, visibly injured, manages to avoid a pin and continues his attack on Cass’ knee. Bryan nearly gets Cass in an S-Lock, but Cass manages to break free.

Cass takes command with a Torture Rack, targeting Bryan’s injured ribs, but a determined Bryan keeps the match going. After some close calls, Bryan grabs the big man’s leg and puts him in the Heel Hook. Cass screams in pain for a moment before tapping out.

Bobby Lashley vs. Sami Zayn

Winner: Bobby Lashley

Highlights: This match was incredibly one-sided. Zayn got a few hits in early on, taunting Lashley, but the latter recovered and took control of the rest of the match. Lashley hits Zayn with a vertical suplex. He triggers Zayn’s vertigo and slams him down brutally for an easy three count. He only uses one hand to make the cover.

Seth Rollins vs. Elias

Winner: Seth Rollins

Highlights: Elias dodges a kick from Rollins and clotheslines him down to the floor. The announcers mention that Rollins has neck injuries from getting hit by Elias’ guitar on Monday Night RAW and Elias takes control of the match, continuously attacking the neck. Rollins injures his knee in an attempted attack, narrowly avoiding a pin.

The two trade brutal hits and a few attempted pins before Rollins manages to flip Elias for the win. Rollins remains the Intercontinental Champion.

Ember Moon vs. Charlotte Flair vs. Alexa Bliss vs. Becky Lynch vs. Natalya vs. Lana vs. Naomi vs. Sasha Banks

Winner: Alexa Bliss

Highlights: The bell rings and everyone starts brawling right away. They all end up outside the ring. Becky kicks a ladder into Natalya and another into Charlotte from inside the ring. Moon takes Becky out with a barricade dive. Becky ends up alone with the ladder, but Bliss and Banks stop her before battling it out on top of the ladder.

Lana sets up a bigger ladder next to them, and everyone ends up on the two ladders together. After a brutal exchange between Bliss, Charlotte, and Lynch, Bliss slams the latter into the corner and scales the taller ladder for the win.

Roman Reigns vs. Jinder Mahal

Winner: Roman Reigns

Highlights: Mahal takes control of the match early on, keeping Reigns on the ground. Reigns gets to his feet but Sunil Singh, who was wheeled out in a wheelchair, reveals that he isn’t injured and pushes Reigns into the ring post when the ref isn’t looking. The Big Dog fights back, but Mahal continues to attempt to pin him, narrowly avoiding a win several times. Reigns takes out Singh with a ferocious clothesline, and gets enough momentum to Superman Punch Mahal and pin him for the win.

Carmella vs. Asuka

Winner: Carmella

Highlights: Carmella and Asuka take turns dominating one another, before Asuka gets the upper hand towards the end. It appears as though she may be able to take Carmella out, but someone appears on the apron dressed like Asuka in a mask and Asuka seems shocked. The mask is removed and it’s James Ellsworth. He smiles as Carmella recovers to nail Asuka with a superkick and pins her for the win.

AJ Styles vs. Shinsuke Nakamura

Winner: AJ Styles

Highlights: The match starts out brutally, as AJ Styles does major damage to Nakamura’s knee. Styles takes a spinning kick to the head to knock him down again. He is up by five again, so Shin puts him on the top turnbuckle for a running knee to the body. Styles tumbles down to the floor and the ref starts his count again. Nakamura slams Styles’ head into the steel steps and then he throws him over the barricade.

They take the fight into the crowd. Styles tries to leap off the barricade and Nakamura kicks his foot out from under him. Styles crashes hard to the floor and takes until the count of seven to get up. The fight gets increasingly brutal from here, as Styles and Nakamura trade brutal below-the-belt hits. After narrowly avoiding a ten count, Styles gets up and puts Nakamura through the announcer’s table for the win. Styles is the last man standing.

Nia Jax vs. Ronda Rousey

Winner: Alexa Bliss

Highlights: Jax dominates the match to a shocking extent, nearly pinning Rousey several times. The latter manages to find a second wind and gets Jax in a crippling armbar. Just when it seems as though Rousey is going to secure the win, however, Alexa Bliss comes out of nowhere and hits both women with her Money in the Bank briefcase.

Bliss drives Rousey into the ringpost and cashes in her contract before hitting Jax with a Twisted Bliss and pinning her for the win.

Braun Strowman vs. Finn Bálor vs. The Miz vs. Rusev vs. Bobby Roode vs. Kevin Owens vs. Samoa Joe vs. Kofi Kingston

Winner: Braun Strowman

Highlights:  Everyone attacks Strowman to get him out of the way. They bludgeon him with ladders until he’s down. The remaining wrestlers fight amongst themselves, but it isn’t long before Strowman recovers and takes over the match. He charges through a ladder that Bobby Roode and Finn Balor, and a stunned Miz is taken out.

Kofi Kingston gets on Strowman’s shoulders as he climbs with Balor on the other side of the ladder, but Strowman sends both of them down to the mat before grabbing the briefcase for himself. Strowman and Bliss, Team Little Big, are the victors.
