With a reshaped roster for 2019 that’s focused on keeping star quarterback Deshaun Watson upright, the Houston Texans are the favorites to take home a second consecutive AFC South title and their fourth in five years.
Texans games this year will be on either CBS (9 games–televised in select markets), Fox (3 games–televised in select markets), NBC (1 game–nationally televised) or ESPN (1 game–nationally televised), while one of the Fox games (Nov. 21 vs. Indianapolis) will also be on Amazon Prime.

If You’re in Canada: DAZN
Viewers in Canada can watch every regular season and postseason NFL game live online via DAZN, a digital streaming service that also includes NFL Network, NFL RedZone, Premier League soccer, Champions League soccer, boxing and other live sports for $20 per month or $150 per year.

Texans 2019 Season Preview
There’s so question that the focus of the offseason for the Texans was to bring in some additional protection for star quarterback Deshaun Watson, who was sacked a league-high 62 times last season after suffering an ACL injury in 2017.
When healthy, Watson is one of the best in the league at what he does. He was a Pro Bowler in 2018, passing for 4,165 yards and 26 touchdowns to just nine interceptions. He also rushed for 551 and five scores. A good chunk of Watson’s completions have gone to wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins, who’s been an All-Pro the last two seasons. Last season, Hopkins collected 1,572 yards and 11 touchdowns.
The Texans used two of their top draft picks on offensive lineman Tytus Howard out of Alabama and Northern Illinois’s Max Scharping and acquired offensive tackle Laremy Tunsil just before the season. In the blockbuster deal, the Texans shipped two future first-round picks and a second-rounder to the Dolphins in exchange for Tunsil.
“These moves were part of a plan, something that was well thought out, spent a lot of time on it and tried to execute the plan,” Texans head coach and acting GM Bill O’Brien told reporters. “It’s not just a plan to improve the team for 2019, it’s a plan to improve the roster for years to come, giving us the ability and flexibility to extend our core players while continuing to add and develop talent.”
It was a high price to pay for Tunsil — a first round pick in 2016 — but made more sense than the deal Houston pulled off with Seattle for former No. 1 overall pick Jadeveon Clowney. The team shipped the DE/LB to the Seahawks for a 2020 third-round pick and linebackers Barkevious Mingo and Jacob Martin after he refused to sign the franchise tag.
Three-time defensive player of the year J.J. Watt is still holding down one side, but there’s no doubt the defense took a hit with the departure of Clowney.
“I understand everybody is going to dissect how we did it and what we received back and what we gave Seattle. In the end we did what we felt was in the best interest of our organization and our team moving forward,” O’Brien said. “We feel like we got a 2020 third-round pick and we also feel like we added two players that are very versatile players. They play hard, they play with great effort, they’re high-character guys and we feel like we did what’s best for the team.”
Odds Shark has Houston’s win total listed at 8.5 for the season, and are the favorite to win the division for a fourth in five years following the retirement of QB Andrew Luck from the Indianapolis Colts.
