Barnes said Monday during his exit interview that he wanted to play at the end of the regular season, but there was still swelling in his surgically-repaired left hand, so the medical staff held him out for precautionary reasons, Ryan Wolstat of the Toronto Sun reports. Barnes added that he doesn't expect to be limited during the offseason, so he appears firmly on track to lead the Raptors in 2024-25. The 2021 No. 4 overall pick was in the midst of a breakout campaign before breaking his left hand in early March. Across 60 appearances, Barnes averaged 19.9 points, 8.2 rebounds, 6.1 assists, 1.5 blocks, 1.3 steals and 1.7 threes per game -- all career highs. He's eligible for a rookie scale contract extension this fall.

Latest Raptors News
Scottie Barnes : Expects to have healthy offseason
Jordan Nwora : Impressive off bench Sunday
Nwora chipped in 14 points (6-10 FG, 2-4 3Pt), 11 rebounds and one assist over 20 minutes during Sunday's 118-103 loss to Miami. Nwora saw regular minutes for the Raptors off the bench since the beginning of March, and while his playing time was not enough to make him a viable fantasy alternative across all formats, he certainly tried to make the most of his minutes whenever his name was called upon duty. Nwora scored in double digits in 12 of his 22 appearances from March 1 onward, including five of his last eight.
Kelly Olynyk : Close to double-double in loss
Olynyk produced 11 points (5-9 FG, 1-3 3Pt), eight rebounds, two assists and one steal in 22 minutes during Sunday's 118-103 loss to the Heat. Olynyk finished just two rebounds shy of a double-double in the season finale, and while his all-around ability was noticeable regardless of whether he was starting or coming off the bench, he only posted six double-doubles all season long. Olynyk ended the 2023-24 campaign on a strong scoring note, however, putting up double-digit points in 10 of his last 11 appearances.
Gary Trent : Scores 18 in season finale
Trent racked up 18 points (6-14 FG, 3-8 3Pt, 3-3 FT), four rebounds and one assist across 23 minutes during Sunday's 118-103 loss to the Heat. Trent was one of the few Toronto veterans who didn't get traded before the deadline. He was a regular starter during the final months of the campaign, and more often than not, he was a consistent source of scoring for a depleted Raptors team. Trent finishes the regular season having scored 20 or more points in only 13 games, and his scoring average was his lowest of his last four seasons in The Association.
Javon Freeman-Liberty : Starting against Miami
Freeman-Liberty is in the starting lineup for Sunday's game versus Miami, Blake Murphy of Sportsnet.ca reports. Freeman-Liberty is averaging 14.0 points, 5.6 rebounds and 2.2 assists while connecting on 51.9 percent of 10.4 shots across five prior starts this season. He is joined by Gary Trent in Toronto's backcourt Sunday.
Ochai Agbaji : Starting in regular-season finale
Agbaji is in the starting lineup for Sunday's game against Miami, Blake Murphy of Sportsnet.ca reports. Agbaji gets the nod with the first unit due to RJ Barrett (knee) being sidelined. Agbaji has boom appeal as a volume shooter, giving him streaming credibility in Toronto's 82nd game.
RJ Barrett : Won’t play Sunday
Barrett (knee) has ruled out for Toronto's regular-season finale versus Miami, Blake Murphy of Sportsnet.ca reports. Barrett's inactive status is the expected outcome with Toronto having nothing to play for. The franchise's next looming consequence comes during the NBA Draft lottery, as the team owes its first-round pick to San Antonio unless it falls within the top six -- hence some incentive to lose down the stretch. As a Raptor (19 appearances), Barrett averaged 21.8 points, 6.4 rebounds and 4.1 assists in 33.5 minutes per game. He's under contract for three more seasons.
RJ Barrett : Dealing with knee soreness
Barrett is questionable for Sunday's game against Miami due to knee soreness, Eric Koreen of The Athletic reports. Barrett dropped 35 points in 33 minutes during Friday's loss to Miami, but it's unclear if he'll take the court Sunday. Koreen speculates that given Toronto's circumstance entering the regular-season finale, "questionable will surely mean out," although Barrett's official status is still to be determined.
